Le Petit Beefbar, part of the globally recognised collection of Beefbar, opens its first UK restaurant on Cale Street in Chelsea
Beefbar is a playful and cosmopolitan luxury brand of steak-houses born in Monte-Carlo, with a focus on glamour and the dining experience. The design is evocative of this; with block wall colours, rich fabrics and playful floor-tiles mingle with panelled walls, antique mirrored surfaces, brass detailing, marble counters, oak and burr-walnut.
Le Petit Beefbar extends the brand’s concept to Chelsea, London, at the former site Tom’s Kitchen by Tom Aitkin. It was essential to transform the existing space, within a limited turn around period and budget. Studio Ageli worked closely with brand owner Riccardo Giraudi, and partner Mead Operational Management, as well as interior designer Neville & Neville to achieve this vision. Our scope of work including producing drawings for the project, coordinating consultants, working with the approved inspector to achieve building control approval and with specialists and the contractor to deliver the scheme.
Studio Ageli developed the layout and basic scheme in early workshops with the interior designer (see sketches), which informed the choice of materials – this was followed up with more formal drawings and finally some more accurate internal 3D views for client approval.
The design intent was to create a vibrant and welcoming London home for Beefbar, reflecting the brand and the city. It has been a pleasure to see the restaurant launch successfully, and receive positive press-attention and public interest.
A private dining room was added on the second floor, with a separate finishing kitchen, open in December 2022.
