We designed and delivered the architectural scheme for a loft extension, including a large bespoke single unit rooflight installed by crane, two other smaller rooflights, an opening Velux balcony, an additional principal ensuite bedroom over the main house, as well as a separate walk-in cupboard over the outrigger, and refurbishment of the first floor bathroom. This necessitated installation of a new plumbing system, fire suppression at ground floor and new electrics.
Studio Ageli developed this as part of a strategy and string of similar conversions for a short Victorian terrace of four houses on the same street for several different clients over a 2 year period, which unifies the rear roofline (viewed from neighbourhood gardens), whilst retaining the historic character of the streetscape with cleverly designed ‘stealth’ rooves, not visible from the road.
The project was in collaboration with interior design practice Studio Hagenhall who we worked closely with to adjust and coordinate layouts and positions of certain external features in line with their interior.
