The apartment is for a professional person experienced in commissioning and managing large developments in London. Given that the space is compact our approach was to make the interior as bright and expansive as possible including pelmet and concealed lighting to avoid visual clutter.
Our brief was for simple but rich finishes as reflected in Studio Ageli’s choice of walnut floors and doors as well as Corian for the kitchen worktops and doors and bathroom furniture. All joinery is bespoke and minimal with concealed hinges and groove finger pulls. Cupboards, cabinets and shelves are built in, fitting elegantly into each room.
As a counterpoint, the bathroom is more atmospheric with darker, shimmering tiles and mood lighting.
The project was awarded Build Architecture Awards’ ‘Best Private Apartment Project in London’.
