Six apartments and two retail units over two Edwardian buildings in a vibrant high-street/ parade of shops.
Studio Ageli delivered a penthouse, three 2-bed, two 1-bed apartments as well as two retail units, for a family owned property fund, which all rented off-plan. The existing two Edwardian buildings were gutted and totally overhauled, and fitted with new services, acoustic walls and floors, and strengthened structure, as well as new windows and refurbished facades. Extensions to the rear and roof enabled two more apartments to be built and a much better layout and light quality for dwellings.
Each apartment was built to be robust but also attract a better rent, by offering high-end materials, such as glass tiles, limestone and porcelain in bathrooms, fitted kitchens, bespoke cabinets, limed oak floors and matching bespoke doors as well as security, access control and integrated wiring for future data and entertainment installations.
The concept was to create a light, bright interior, with a simple, calming and flowing neutral palette. Keeping surfaces free of clutter and detail, and integrating services was key.
As well as full design, architecture and project management, We managed the process throughout, including planning changes and complicated building control approvals, as well as coordinating/ procuring interior materials from suppliers on behalf of the client.
