Studio, Hackney Project Diary

A series looking back at projects before and after occupation - Studio unit refit in a Victorian factory for a young creative practice.

A tight budget and deadline dictated a rigorous attitude to detail and material.

The unit was completely stripped to expose the space’s industrial features.

Robust, everyday materials create an elegant and calm interior. It is a flexible environment, able to accommodate the practice’s development.

The project has been revisited and photographed again 3 years after completion and the addition of new elements by Studio Ageli such as a podium, bespoke artwork and a chandelier.
